Seattle’s Natural Features and Maritime History.

The tour lasts three hours. We take off from Ballard, one of Seattle’s historical and hippest neighborhood. Tour starts at the corner of 24th Ave NW & NW 67th St Seattle, WA 98117.

There's plenty of street parking and areas away from traffic to test out an electric bike.  First stop is at the Olympic Mountains and Sound Viewpoint, Burke-Gilman Trail, Ballard Locks, Fisherman’s Terminal, Fremont Troll and Gasworks Park.

Your tour guide is David. He grew up in Seattle and teaches in Seattle. David is a former teacher of the year for Washington State as named by the World Affairs Council. He is also a national champion trail runner and is an expert in Washington State History, Northwest ecology, the Olympic Mountains, Puget Sound, fish and wildlife, and funky neighborhoods.

Rates:

All riders…$85 for a 3hr tour.

 Electric Bikes:

The electric bikes are fat-tire RadPower Minis and the Mini StepThrus, they are accessible for almost all riders. Must be 16 or older to ride.  Although the electric motor helps a lot with Seattle’s hills, you do have to pedal. At times, it can be the exercise equivalent of a brisk walk and on other points a pleasant stroll (or you can work as hard as you’d like for a greater aerobic experience.) A short walk with the bike is required through the Ballard Locks.  A cargo bike with a child seat is available upon request.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of pedaling a bike.  You also have to be comfortable stopping, getting on and getting off a bike.  We stick to bike paths and lightly traveled roads but there are times when we share the road.

Items to bring.

Tour comes with a helmet and a water bottle. There are bags on each bike for caring personal items. Bring your own snacks and warm clothing or rain gear (I do have some extra rain gear to lend out if needed). Sunglasses are encouraged. The wind chill on electric bikes is often greater than on a pedal bike. Please ask lots of questions, as the tour guides are voice activated.

Tour cancellation.

If you need to cancel your tour, we ask that you give us two days notice. Of course, we appreciate as much notice as possible.

Cost: $85 per person including bike, helmet, and guide.

You should be comfortable riding and pedaling a bike. That includes starting, stopping and turning. Electric bikes are very similar to pedal bikes. Depending on your biking experience it may take awhile to get used to the additional features of an electric bike. Dress for the weather.
